Tuition fees for 2024:
PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with QTS - £9,250
QTS only - £8,400
Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship - £9000
Apprenticeship - Tuition fees are paid for by the school drawing down the funds from the apprenticeship levy. Apprentices have no further recourse to any funding from the Student Loans Company as they are paid a salary. There is an option to undertake a PGCE at the same time, in conjunction with Birmingham City University, which costs £1350 – this fee is paid by the apprentice. If you think you would like to do the PGCE as well, please get in touch to discuss the options to suit you.
PGCE and QTS programmes - All other trainees will need to fund their own tuition fees – this can either be done privately (in three termly instalments, further details available from the Partnership if required) or by applying for a tuition fee loan from the Student Loans Company.
Your tuition fees will be paid automatically to the Partnership by the SLC and you will pay them back, according to a pre-determined schedule, once you are employed and earning over the minimum salary threshold.
Depending on your personal financial circumstances, you may also be eligible for a maintenance loan to contribute towards your costs of living. This is means-tested and will be completely individualised to each applicant. This is paid termly, at the start of each term, by the Student Loans Company.

Regretfully the Government no longer support bursaries for Primary Teacher Training.
If you are coming with the financial backing of your school, there is funding available for the tuition fees from the Apprenticeship Levy.
Tuition-fee students will be required to have DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks carried out before commencing in a school placement. These allow trainees to work or train across the whole range of our Partnership and Associate schools. These will be initiated by the Partnership for those students to whom we make conditional offers.
Apprentices will have their DBS checks carried out by their employing schools.
